Former IT professional — I picked up this set to wire up a new house and a homelab. This set had everything you would need and feels like a small step up from commodity tools. They were all perfectly serviceable. The side cutters weren’t the style i prefer but that’s me. I wanted to have a case that I could keep things together so bits and pieces don’t wander off. It’s a standard injection molded case so it’s nothing fancy, but is a much appreciated inclusion regardless. If you’re a professional this would be a good set to get started with and upgrade to something better down the road. If you’re anyone else, you should be happy with this set. My only gripe is that the pass-through ends are finicky but it’s better than messing up a crimp and having to cut it off and start over.
Definitely worth the money and no regrets.

On one hand, this is not truly a professional networking kit, on the other hand, it’s a lot less money, interestingly, many years back I paid more for my first punch-down tool than this entire kit costs. The upside is, this kit works~!~ The downside is, there are some items in the kit that are, more or less, unnecessary or duplicated. However, that is a small issue for what you are getting.
I’m retired but maintain a home shop, I’ve spent 40 years in electronics, then moved into ‘IT’ with the advent of the Internet, and I can assure you, this kit works and is worth every penny you pay. It cuts, strips, and crimps, what more could you want in a home kit? It even comes with a bonus baggie of (pass-thru) RJ-45 fittings. There are also materials for working with RJ-11/12 which is what we call POTS, or Plain Old Telephone Service, equipment, think your old telephone devices.
You’ve read in the ad about ‘Pass Thru’, well the development of RJ-45 ‘Pass Thru’ fittings was a gift, I’ve worn down many finger/thumb combos getting all 8 conductors the perfect order and length. I’m not a fan of ‘Blow-molding’, but it does keep everything tidy. After you pick this kit up, watch a few videos, then grab a few feet of cable and practice, it will pay dividends.
