Best razor I ever used. I shaved with the Braun series 9 and 7 for several years, but I’m sold on the Panasonic. The 70,000 passes per second motor makes for a fast, comfortable and close shave. The incredibly flexible head is so much more ergonomic than the Braun series 9.
I pair this with Eltron Shave Ease Cleaner, which seals the deal by easily lubricating the cutters and providing incredible comfort.

Bought the basic silver version of Arc 5 Panason after reading reviews. i’M On blood thinner so can’t shave with blades.
Son bought me a basic trimmer razor which I replaced with Arc 5. Shaves almost
as close as blade. Has flip out trimmer for sidenburns.
I keep dry–no wet shaving. I clean out the beard dust inside by nblowing on it.
and occasionally a small brush. But I use a compressed air can which really cleans it well.

I keep trying different shaving methods always hoping to find the perfect one. This may be the best electric option yet.
I have tried the then-best from Norelco a few years back. A Braun S9 which is supposed to be the best of the best. A cheaper Norelco, and this one. The high-zoot Norelco just didn’t work well for me at all. The more conventional cheaper Norelco is surprisingly good, OK for closeness, great for comfort, and quite fast. The Braun will in fact give me the close shave the reviews say if I go over and over and over and over and OVER my face. This Panasonic shaves as well as the Braun but gives me a smooth shave much faster.
The special cleaning speed and the power button lock are very useful, but not obvious. You have to read the manual to find them.
There is some minor skin irritation for me. I usually get that with a new razor and I insist on a shave that is closer than I really need, so keep those factors in mind.
I got the one without the cleaning stand. The Braun I have has a cleaning stand and I find that it is just irritating. I suspect that with cleaning (the Panasonic has a special cleaning “vibration” mode that is supposed to prevent splashing so much) using hand soap as recommended one really doesn’t need a cleaning stand for this razor, so I suggest that if you’re on the line trying to decide whether you want that just save your money. Use a brush, hand soap and water, and then oil the blades. Panasonic includes a bottle of oil to let you do that, even.
Pretty nice razor! I don’t give it five stars because it is still not as quick as a multi-blade wet razor AFTER you get your face all washed and soaped and lathered up. Also not quite as close as a better wet razor. But much more convenient and very nice. Especially nice for travel ’cause you don’t have to explain to the TSA that no, that mystery compound in the plastic cylinder is SHAVING SOAP. Sheesh. Those guys.

Freaking crazy electric razor…Perfect, close shave with zero irritation. For me, this gets just as close as a razor. let me explain, when I shave with a razor I have to be careful how hard I push down on the razor especially the neck area. With this electric razor, I can push somewhat harder and it becomes baby butt smooth. Skin irritation is non existent for me…Not sure what the hell they are doing over at Panasonic, but they must have hired some mad scientists to pull this off…Bravo Panasonic!!!

I’ve been a Braun cordless user forever, started with a Model 7 and eventually moved on to a Model 9. I was never 100% happy with the Brauns because they just didn’t shave that close, the trimmer dulled quickly, and their cleaning carts are overpriced.
Finally broke through the inertia, gave this Panasonic a go, and have been seriously impressed right from the jump. It shaves much closer and quicker and the trimmer actually works well (hopefully doesn’t wear itself out like the Brauns). And I picked up a years supply of cleaning solution for the cost of a couple of Braun carts (which at best make it a month).
Bottom line: I’m very pleased so far!

Disappointed, I had read how great this shaver was and how close it got. My old Norelco 8950 did a way better job.
I have coarse neck hair that curves and lays flat, didn’t matter what angle or technique I used the blades couldn’t pick it up.
It worked well in my face but it wasn’t the smoothest electric shave I have had there either. My two or three o’clock I could feel my beard again, I wound up have to use a razor to touch up.
If you have a light beard, this might be the machine for you. The base station was great and did a good job of cleaning the unit. It has a good design and is easy to use. It charged fast, didn’t pull my hair. Even though I went over the same spots a lot it didn’t tear up my face with some elecshave or shaving cream.
I really wanted to like this but it couldn’t get the job done.

I’ve been a Braun user for 25+ years but was frustrated with the poor shaves that several models provided. After looking into the Panasonic razor, it was half the price of the new Braun and supposedly a closer shave, so I gave it a try. I am very happy with the Panasonic as it shaves nearly as close as a razor blade and takes half the time as my old Braun. I have sensitive skin and the Panasonic has not given me any rashes after a month of use. You won’t be disappointed.

This was a gift for my husband‘s anniversary and he absolutely loved it. This was a replacement for his old one and he says that it works just as good as the old one did. The charging capability is phenomenal and it provides him a close and smooth shave I highly recommend this brand and razor to anyone who has a man who has sensitive skin, but still wants a close and baby smooth face.
