I have two cordless water flossers-this Panasonic and a Hangsun both bough on Amazon. I rate them both at 4 stars with the Hangsun slightly higher. Here’s why

The Panny holds 7 ounces of liquid and the Hangsun holds 10. I only need 4 ounces to floss so either works well that way. But that advantage goes to the Hangsun.

Both put out good water pressure but the Hangsun puts out a slightly harder water stream. Both will go through 7 ounces of water in about a minute with the Panny getting an extra few seconds. Advantage to Hangsun

The reservoir in the Hangsun is removable and easily rinsed. The Pannys reservoir is internal to the unit and cannot be removed. The bottom of the Panny is removable so you can still rinse it out. Advantage Hangsun

Quality of construction and fit and finish are good on both units with the Panny being slightly more refined. Advantage Panasonic

The Pañny has a charger base that the unit sits on to charge. The Hangsun has a USB wall charger with cable and a protective plug cover that can easily get lost. Advantage Panasonic

The Pañny is smaller and easier to handle for small hands but not by much. Both can be handled comfortably by adults. Advantage neither.

The Hangsun is under $40 while the Panny is $85 or so. In addition the Hangsun comes with extra tips and the Panny only comes with one other jet tip. Advantage Hangsun.

Overall the Hangsun gets the gold medal here. If you want a smaller version of it there is the Smile Direct handheld flosser sold here with the 5oz reservoir which is otherwise identical to the Hangsun.

There are also other units under different names that look like the Hangsun and probably perform just like it. They even come in different colors!

Either flosser will get the job done well. Decide based on price, added accessories, fluid capacity, and convenience.

    Both are quite good

Bought a second one for a different houses. First one is over 7 years old and going well. The trick is to use good rechargeable battery. Fujitsu. It’s better than my waterpik and last longer on trips. Easily last 2 weeks for 2 adults. This uses only 2 AA battery, where the Waterpik used 3 AAA (and did not feel as strong). Easy to clean was also what I had like. Just pull it apart and you can reach everything. The only minor complain is the cap to the battery housing is a little hard to twist off. I guess that offset the tight seal as I have never had water issues or seepage into the batter compartment and compact. It also stands upright and stable, don’t wobble and easily get knock over. Folding down to a small cylinder help when travelling.

I purchased this flosser in February and I loved it so much for travel and home. However it has just stopped working in the last month. This is so unacceptable – I welcome assistance with a replacement but it doesn’t seem to be available on the website!

    Sooo disappointing!!!!

This is the first time that I use a water flosser. It is much more comfortable than using dental floss, and it cleans very well especially at the higher speed.

Water reservoir could be bigger, but the beauty of this product is portability and using normal AA batteries as compared to other similar products. You can bring it with you wherever you go, and not worry about forgetting to pack the charger.

In terms of battery usage, I floss once per day (high speed), and batteries can last about 2 weeks before replacement. Long term usage wise, I would recommend using re-chargeable AA batteries.

If you are like me and like your tools to be sturdy and powerful, the Panasonic one is the only one to choose. As a person who reject to get my wisdom teeth pulled out, this water flosser will be my lifelong companion to clean the gap between the back-end teeth and the wisdom ones. And the first one that I own have been lasting for almost 10 years and still work like day one. I even tried to change to some other brand in-between simply because I wanted to buy two water flosseres as backup and I thought the other two brand might perform better. Then, there came with Waterpik and Philips.

Comparison: The Waterpik one is way too weak. It is impossible to flush out the stuck food debris from teeth gaps. I bought two. The water pulse is so weak I even thought it was a defected one. So, I returned and tried another one. My friend has the same opinion as I did. We both returned and switched back to Panasonic. The Philips one has too much gimmick (it mixes water and air. but nothing helpful) and still the water power is not stronger than Panasonic. Besides, the Panasonic one is the only one which is foldable and that is perfect to protecting the nozzle when travelling.

Battery: This one use two AA batteries. if you use rechargeable Li-on AA batteries and the power can go up to a new level. The Philips one is li-on and Waterpik one I bought needs 3 aa batteries. Personally, I do not like build-in batteries. Since it would have the same updating cycle as its battery even the other parts are still good.

Now, I own three of this one and my friend also owns one. One is for home, one is in the office. And the other one is as back-up. Simply because I am worried that Panasonic may discontinue the products in the future. But the first one is still in its perfect working status.

Make sure this is the only one you buy. Don’t make stupid mistake and think other brands are the same.
Even those ‘famous’ brands are rubbish.

My previous one of the same Panasonic model last me almost a decade and eventually the battery lid worn to a point I cannot replace the battery anymore. The motor was still strong but I just couldn’t easily replace the battery so I made a mistake and replace it with a Waterpik. Regret that on the first second I use it, weak pressure and rechargeable battery only last few days. Thank god it died within 6 months (what the heck)

There you go I just come back to buy the second Panasonic again.

Some other comments saying it’s impossible to clean, but it’s actually quite easy. Just pull the water tank with a bit more force and it will come apart and you can clean the whole unit pretty easily.

This is the second irrigator I bought. The previous one was exactly the same and worked for exactly 4 years. Then the water jet became quite weak, probably the motor used up its entire resource and I decided to buy exactly the same one, because it completely suits me.
It is compact, powerful and has never broken down.

I think swishing water around in my mouth is about as effective as this thing is, given how low the pressure is at the nozzle tip. I commend them for finding a way to make one that can be put into checked baggage (using old-style, disposable alkaline batteries, which of course has its own drawback). But the pump is disappointingly weak.

I had purchased a different travel water flosser here at Amazon, but it had two other faults:

    • The rechargeable lithium ion batteries were not removable, so the whole thing had to go in my carry-on bag due to FAA safety regulations.

    • It physically broke when I was putting the water tank back on.

muy funcional y efectivo. desde la velocidad 1 es efectivo y a un buen precio.
la capacidad es suficiente y hasta sobra si se usa en la velocidad mas baja,
    práctico para llevar.

I bought this because I loved the older version and no longer had access to it. This is a high quality piece of equipment that I now always depend on when I’m on the go. Easy to use. Easy to carry.
