I’ll keep it susinct, up top, but if you’re into the gory details, please read on!

Negative 5 Stars for Samsung Customer Service/Support, and a known issue with the motion sensor’s functionality. I’ll give it one star for it’s redeeming quality: It has a great physical design, with the no-gap mount and thin bezel. Picture quality was good, until Customer Service started working on it. Sound, probably good. I’m not a good judge of that. Sounded way better than the 10 year old Sony that it replaced.

    Rough Timeline:
Ordered Frame TV, and built an entire wall of built-ins around this specific TV due to it’s Art-Mode features. (Extra info, has no bearing on the TV or company, but hey)

Finished construction of the cabinets, and set up the TV, noticed that the motion sensor does not work as advertised. It will turn the TV off (when in Art Mode) with no motion in the room, but will not wake the TV.

Called Customer Support, they took control and went into some deep service menus and made some adjustments. Did not fix the problem, but did make the TV run much slower, and now I began to get horizontal lines on the screen when in art mode.

They sent out a repair company. Guys were very nice, but after 3 trips, they were not able to get it working. After replacing the screen, motherboard, and trying 3 new one connect boxes and cables, they ended up calling the Samsung engineers, who said I should call the ECR department, and get the unit replaced.

I call later trying to reach the ECR department, and am told that I cannot be connected to them directly. Still waiting for them to call me back.

Called Amazon, and within 10 minutes he had another unit on the way. They were unbelievably helpful.

New unit shows up, and the motion sensor works great out of the box! Came with an older firmware than the first unit, but as soon as the TV auto-updated to the new firmware, 1335, the motion sensor lost all functionality.

After running multiple experiments, I found that with certain pieces of art selected, the motion sensor WILL work, but with others, it will NOT work.

Given the parameters, it is clearly the Samsung firmware that is causing the Motion Sensor to not function as advertised. After googling the problem, it seems to be a very common problem. There is no way Samsung is not aware of this, but they are not being transparent about a solution.

Thank you Amazon for the return, I’m giving up and Samsung.

I have wanted one of these Frame TVs for a long time. I finally took the plunge and couldn’t be happier. The quality is amazing and it looks great even when it’s off. The viewing angle is excellent. We had an articulating mount on our old TV, so I was worried that we would miss that, but it’s not a problem. People sitting at an extreme angle on the other end of the room are able to see the screen without a problem. While the artwork doesn’t look exactly like a print (it is a screen after all) it really does look great. The one connect box is super cool, I ran the cable through the wall and down to the basement so everything is completely out of the way. The universal remote works so well. I probably don’t need a FireTV anymore, but I’ll keep it for multi-room music. The sound quality on the TV is excellent. I also found the no-gap wall mount to be extremely easy and a beautiful result. I am extremely picky and spend way too much time researching products (specs, reviews, youtube, etc.), so trust me when I say this is a great TV.

This TV is very impressive. The picture is unbelievably sharp and I feel like it does much better in brighter environments than an OLED.

The art mode has made my wife extremely happy and I am starting to love it too. I’m used to walking downstairs and seeing a gigantic black box on our wall but now I see a gorgeous painting or pictures of my girls. This TV is worth it for the art mode in my opinion.

We had a birthday party at our house yesterday and my sister asked me “What did you do with your TV?” I had a painting by Cezanne up and she thought we had replaced the TV with a painting. Then I showed her the menu and her jaw dropped.

We opted for the light wood frame, which snapped on magnetically, sooo easy, and it really helps with the whole art illusion.

In short, this is the best TV I’ve ever owned. My wife was just saying this morning that it is going to be our “forever TV” and I tend to agree with her. I’m a bit of a gadget freak, but honestly, I don’t want to change out this TV anytime soon. It would be like trashing a painting.

Unique TV with great picture quality. Does it look exactly like a painted picture? No, especially up close or when there’s a glare on the screen. Does it look 100% better than a gigantic ugly black box in the living room? Absolutely.

The Art mode is great, although I found the mat border effect to be a little too fake looking. Just having the pic full screen is better I think. Picture quality is fantastic, 4K Samsung as you’d expect. Lots of settings to tweak if that’s your thing, and the game mode works perfectly (I have my Switch hooked up to it and it runs great, no lag or frame issues). Google assistant can turn it on or off with voice which is nice. Included flush mount is a huge plus, it was super easy to mount with 2 people. One connect box is great, easy to feed the cord Into the wall. What else is there to say? This TV is dope.

Also I recommend to get one of the frames… they are expensive but nice quality. we got the white one and it really makes the art mode stand out. The black frame still sort of looks TV-ish even with art mode on.
